Lower Impact

Macrocarpa wood lots have less environmental impact than radiata pine. In addition all our Macrocarpa is sourced locally in Otago, largely from FSC accredited forests. Macrocarpa's natural durability means you can accomplish above-ground projects without the toxic chemicals used in CCA treating, reducing health risk in both construction and in situ.

Naturally Durable

Macrocarpa timber naturally contains oils which give the wood resistance to fungal growth, borer, and other insects. When used above ground Macrocarpa's heartwood durability is equivalent to structural grade radiata pine treated to Hazard Class H3.2.

Versatile

Macrocarpa timber has excellent stability and workability, making it a great choice for framing. It will swell and shrink less than radiata pine in response to atmospheric humidity. Macrocarpa timber can be used indoors or outdoors, and is sought after for its aesthetic value whether oiled, varnished, or left to naturally silver with age.
